Last Friday was a gorgeous day. The sun was out, warming everything up. Despite that

the shade was still cool, and a nice breeze was blowing. The grass was a vibrant green, and there

were no bugs to be seen. How do I know all this? Because last Friday was our annual Big Splash,

and I got to spend the day out in the water and the sun!

For those who might not know a ton about Big Splash, this is our annual water fun event.

We, the summer students, get to organize what really amounts to a huge summer party, complete

with a huge inflatable slide, kiddy pools, and a water balloon fight at the end. The best part is

that once we set it all up, we get to play with the kids the whole time!

And boy do we get kids! A lot of the kids are from St. Peter, but we also get kids from

our preschool and guests that are invited by church families. Everyone has a blast, and it’s so

much fun to watch friendships develop between kids who might have never met before. It’s

amazing how good of friends you can become just by splashing each other with water

repeatedly!

All in all, Big Splash this year was a huge success!
